A library is a collection of books and other educational materials. These books can be read and borrowed by the students. Generally, a library is a part and parcel of a school. Our school has a library which is housed on the first floor in a big room. It is well furnished with many shelves and almirahs. There are 22 almirahs with glass doors for arranging books. There are also 10 open shelves for books. Each shelf contains books on separate subjects like literature, English, science, history, geography, commerce, economics, etc. All the almirahs contain huge reference books, general books, storybooks, novels, etc. A librarian is appointed to oversee all the maintenance of the books in the library. He ensures a calm and disciplined atmosphere in the library. In the leisure period, the students come to the library to read the books they need. The students who hold the library card are allowed to borrow books for a week from the library. It gives us an opportunity for preparing our own notes. A library is an important place to concentrate on study. It is really essential for learning and progress.

A school library is a library within a school where students have access to a variety of educational resources. It is an integral part of the school. No school is complete without a library. It provides knowledge to the students which is helpful for their studies. A school library contains many textbooks of different classes and reference books. It also contains storybooks, novels, poetry, fiction, etc. There are separate shelves for books on separate subjects like history, Bangla literature, English literature, geography, economics, science, philosophy, politics, and religion, etc. Books are arranged on the shelves according to the catalogue. The atmosphere of the library is calm and disciplined. The library provides an excellent learning environment for the students. There is a librarian who ensure learning environment in the library and helps the students to find out books from the shelves. He also issues books to the students to take at home for a week against a library card. Our school library is located on the first floor in a very big room in the school building. It is well furnished with many almirahs, tables, chairs, benches, and pictures. It has 20 almirahs for arranging books. In the leisure periods, many students come to the library and read books and periodicals. To make a knowledge-based society, a library is helpful to grow up the people intellectually. A library is the heart and soul of an educational institution. I really feel proud to find that our school has such a rich library.
