A rainy day paragraph

A rainy day is a day of heavy rain or sometimes drizzling all day long. It is a dull and gloomy environment.  The sun is not seen. The sky is overcast with thick clouds. Roads go underwater. On this day, men cannot go out for their normal activities. In case of urgent work people go out with umbrella over their head, shoes in hand, and clothes folded up to the knees. The poor people and day laborers become jobless. They cannot earn their livelihood. So, the day is a curse for them. Some of them sit on the rain-soaked floor under the leaky roofs. On the other hand, a rich man welcomes a rainy day. He enjoys the day staying at home. He sits quietly by the window and listens to the music of the rain-fall. He passes the day listening to music, watching TV, or reading novels. The poet and the novelist consider the day as a special day for their writing. They feel thrilled in their hearts.   A rainy day is most welcome to school children. They have a holiday to enjoy. Some of them pass the day playing indoor games. On rainy days, the soil is soaked by rainwater. It helps plants to grow. It helps flowers to bloom, and nature looks fresh and beautiful. A rainy day is a mixed day of joy and sorrow. On the whole, a rainy day is not pleasant to all.
