Once there lived a shepherd boy. He used to graze a herd of sheep of his master in a field near the forest. Some farmers also worked in a field near the forest. One day the shepherd felt boring. So he wanted to have fun for pleasure. He suddenly cried aloud, “Wolf, Wolf. The wolf is taking away a lamb from the field” Farmers working in the field came running with sticks and asked, “Where is the wolf?” The boy laughed and replied, “ It was just fun.”
After a few days, the shepherd boy shouted again with a similar sound,” Wolf, Wolf! The wolf is carrying away with a lamb.” The farmers again ran to shield the boy. But the boy laughed at them and said, “Here is no wolf. It was not more than a joke.” The farmers abused the boy and went away. They learned the boy’s falsehood and became much annoyed.
After some days, the boy was grazing his sheep. At that time a wolf really came from the forest. The boy cried loudly, “Wolf, Wolf! The wolf is carrying a lamb away”. But no one came to help the boy. The shouted again and again, “Help! Wolf! Help!” Still, there was no one to come. The farmers thought that the boy was making a false alarm again. The wolf killed all the sheep and then went away.
