Introduction: Tree plantation is a process of planting trees as much as you can in a planning way. Today it is not just about planting trees, it is a movement all over the world. People almost depend entirely on trees for their living. So, there is a need to plant and take care of trees to protect their own lives, environment, forest resources, and agricultural production. All religions also instruct planting trees and not cutting down trees or uproot them unnecessarily as they provide protection to living beings.
Period for planting trees: Generally, June, July, and August are the best time to plant trees. However, in Bangladesh, tree planting has been seen throughout the year recently. In a cold climate, early spring is the best time to plant trees. In a warm climate, from late winter or mid to late fall is the time to plant trees.
The necessity of tree planting: Trees are the real beneficial friends of all living beings. Unfortunately, a huge number of trees is decreasing day by day due to various reasons. Because of the needs of agriculture, industrialization, and urbanization the forests are cleaned vastly to obtain land. People cut down trees for wood to make construction, furniture, and fuel. Thus we are losing trees and forests are shrinking. This loss of trees causes’ climate change, soil erosion, desertification, flooding, increased greenhouse gases, and shortage of oxygen in the atmosphere. Hence, it is crucial to place special emphasis on tree planting. Assessing the overall contribution of trees, everyone should be encouraged to plant trees and encourage others.
Deforestation and its effects: The destruction and removal of trees deliberately from an area causes deforestation. It affects greatly the environment, natural ecosystem, biodiversity, and climate. Animal and plant species are extinct for losing their habitat. Losses of trees allow the increase of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and decrease the amount of oxygen to breathe. Effects of deforestation also include floods, soil erosion, droughts, and climate change. According to research findings, many diseases on the earth are emerging due to deforestation.
Tree Plantation program: Tree plantation program refers to the activities undertaken by planting trees on a small or large scale in a planned manner. Small tree planting programs can be 50 to 100 trees or less in a place like a garden or local roadside. On the other hand, a large program involves planting thousands of trees that may take many days or weeks to complete. In fact, these programs encourage people to involve planting more trees.
Ways of planting more trees: Planting more trees is the most important and effective way to protect humans and the environment. People can also be encouraged to plant a large number of trees through tree plantation programs. The government of a country needs to take this agenda with high importance. Starting from educational institutions, the government should carry out tree plantation programs in all sectors. Afforestation boosts climate and environmental-related benefits. Steps can be taken as an individual, or as a community for encouraging, funding, seedling, planting, protecting, and caring for trees in cities and rural areas.
Conclusion: Everyone should come forward planting more trees considering the need of trees to survive on earth. Only massive tree plantations can combat climate change, environmental pollution and supply pure air to the environment. So, it should be our oath that we will plant two trees every time before we cut down a tree.
